View from “eilandje”

“Het Eilandje” is an old port area with many docks, situated between the historic city of Antwerp and the actual port. The Masterplan Eilandje 2002 is a strategic plan to turn this former port area to a neighborhood with a mix of housing, work, cultural and commercial facilities.

Antwerp (Antwerpen in Dutch) is one of the largest cities in Belgium and it's the capital of the flemisch speaking community. Antwerp is located on the right bank of the river Schelde and has a population of about 450.000 people. The seaport is Europe's second largest.
